Day 1 Meeting the Jungle.
Reception at the airport and transport to WASAI Maldonado Lodge,where you will be welcomed with a delicious tropical cocktail. You can prepare the indispensable material for the trip and keep the rest of your luggage at WASAÍ Maldonado Lodge. Transport to Km 37 of the road Cusco - Puerto Maldonado. From this point we will start the trekking or biking for between 5 and 6 hours across primary woods in the reserved zone of Tambopata Candamo up to the WASAI Tambopata Lodge & Research Center (Box lunch for the trip). During the trip we will visit the settlers farms. While we keep getting in the depth of the jungle along a narrow path we will see different inds of forests with giant trees and also have the first contacts with the shy animals of the Amazonic jungle. Arrival at WASAI Tambopata Lodge & Research Center and lodgement in rooms with private bathroom to rest after the journey. The various sounds of the jungle will involve us in our first night in the Amazone land. Dinner and sleeping at the lodge (L,D).
Day 2 Walking in the jungle
After breakfast we will go across the Tambopata up to the trail to Gato river, we will then enter the territory of peccaries, deer and other animals, with the possibility to hear or see them, find their footprints or discover a troop of monkeys. The forest is virgin and wonderfull. If the weather is convenient, we will observe a nice spectacle in wild life: lots of parrots of diferent kinds get together at dawn to lick mineral salts on a clay wall. In the dry season there are waterfalls where you can enjoy a pleasant bath. We will continue on foot along Gato river to see more wild life. At almost noon we will go back to the lodge to have breakfast and rest until lunch. In the afternoon we will visit the collpa of mammals and enjoy the river paddling in small canoes. In the evening, those who want, can walk through the jungle or along the river banks and watch the stars, alligators and other night animals always with our guides companion. Dinner and night at the lodge. (B,L,D)
Day 3 Transfer out
If you wake up early, there are many options, fishing, birdwatching etc. If you prefer to wake up later you can choose another options. Breakfast will be serve until 10 am at the restaurant of the lodge. Special farewell lunch, and start our return by byke or walking to the main road where the overland bus will be waiting for us to transport to your selected hotel at Puerto Maldonado, arrival at nigth.
